My Review:

Heir of Fire is the third book of Throne of Glass series. After reading Crown of Midnight, I was literally worried if it would keep pace with it or not. Honestly, it has exceeding my expectation for this series. I loved all the old characters, except Chaol, as well as new characters introduced in this book.

In this book, three stories were going side by side. One of them highlighted Celaena’s story in Wendlyn. Although the previous book already hinted who Celaena really was, this book further presented her background, exactly what happened ten years ago, not only who but actually what she was, and what happened to her kingdom. In Wendlyn, she got to meet Rowan (oh, how much I loved him) who is appointed by Queen Maeve to train and test her fae qualities. Their relationship transformed from hatred to respect, and they eventually became friends.

The second story continues at Adarlan where a new warrior from Terrsan arrived to pay a visit to the King. Aedion, who happened to be one of the King of Adarlan’s loyal warriors, was known to be a brutal wolf notorious for killing his own people on King’s command. When Chaol suspected him and set on to know more about him, he came to know that Aedion was actually one of the secret rebels trying to restore the court of Terrasan.

Doraian, who was actually very lonely after Celaena left to Wendlyn, found some solace in the company of a healer, Sorscha, and seemed to be very attracted to her. Sorscha also tried to help him tame his magic outburst. What would happen when the King came to know that the crown prince was having a secret affair with a healer?

We also got to know more about Iron teeth witches, as the third story pertained to Manon who was introduced as the heir to Blackbeak clan. How the King used all the iron teeth clans to his own advantage, how the witches were given a chance to fly again, and how Manon got her wyvern, Abraxos, is my favorite story among all three stories. I loved Manon’s character.

In the end, I loved how Sarah J Mass delivered all three stories side by side. Her writing style is very engaging, captivating and entertaining. But the most of all I loved how she managed to end this book. The ending made me want to grab the next book right away in order to know what happens to Dorian, as ending scene of his story is the one I’m looking forward to read the most. Without doubt, Sarah J Mass is becoming my new favorite author. Highly recommended series!
