My Review:

I actually won the signed paperback copy of “Underwater” in a giveaway held by the author, Anna B. Doe. So, naturally, I was too excited to dive deep into this book. And I’m feeling extremely happy to say that the story held up to my expectations. This is actually my first modern day fairytale book and I loved it.

Underwater is a beautiful story of a girl, Merissa, who is in love with water as she lives in a town situated near to ocean. However, this very love of ocean turns into a momentarily curse to her when she decides to save the life of only person she loves. She has to go through the consequences of the curse and figure out a way to turn it all back. Would she be able to lift that curse off or, on the contrary, have to live with this curse for her entire life?

I totally loved the characters of this story. Who doesn’t want to read about a bad boy who is extremely dreamy and hot? But with a warm heart of gold underneath. The love tension between Marissa, Caleb and Ty kept me giddy and hooked all the way through this book. Besides, it is also fun to read the hilarious conversations of Marissa and Noel.

This is incredibly magical and entertaining book. The inordinately vivid description of the creatures and life underwater are amazingly mesmerizing and feel extremely real. The way Anna Doe has described the splendor of ocean is beautiful and will give you goose bumps reading about it. How can I end this review without talking about the chapter where the author mentioned my favorite Marvel superhero, Captain America? That moment sucked me right in, making me all giggly and giddy, and I loved it. Highly recommended!
